Alpha and Omega Semiconductor (AOS), a company that designs, develops and supplies a wide variety of power semiconductors globally, has declared the availability of its latest AlphaMOS(TM) solutions, which are designed to get most out of the current DC to AC power conversion usages.
The new range of products is ideal for deployment in solar micro-inverter modules, a technology that is currently used in most of the portable and residential solar usages.
According to Stephen Chang, AOS’ Senior Product Marketing Manager, to get maximum out of the solar installations and to garner maximum power, the installations need efficient MOSFETs to prevent switching losses and to maximize the conduction. The AlphaMOS solutions supplied by AOS are designed to waste less quantity of power through low level of Rds(on) and Qg to achieve maximum power generation from solar installations.
For the purpose of main control at DC side AOS supplies 40V to 100V AlphaMOS medium voltage MOSFETs with very low level of Rds(on) and gate charge (Qg) in the typical TO-220 green package used in the industry. To assure a higher level of reliability the instruments are 100% UIS and Rg tested.
The company offers a wide variety of 600V AlphaMOS solutions with optional internal fast recovery diode for use in the inverters deployed for the line voltage side with maximum efficiency and reduced loss levels. The recently introduced AlphaIGBT(TM) technology platform will soon have a range of high power IGBTs to make the solar micro-inverter portfolio of AOS complete and to assist the applications that need higher level of power.
