Evatran announced that it has launched the online reservation system of the Plugless Power product along with a rebate card as a motivation to promote early reservations. The rebate card can be used to recharge the vehicles of the customer for upto six months of electricity.
Repeated plugging in and out required by the traditional electric vehicles is avoided by the Plugless Power system, whose process of recharging allows the user to just park in his customary space or garage and get started. The wireless system mechanically starts charging depending on the requirements of the vehicle, which is conveyed to the charging station through a wireless interface that imitates the standards of the corded SAE J1772.
A diminutive vehicle adapter must be fitted to the electric vehicle to use the system. The adapter must be fixed on the car’s undercarriage and is wired straight away into the currently present on-board battery charger. The vehicle can also be recharged through a cord though it is geared up for wireless charging. The list of retailers who will offer the installation services of the vehicle adapter will be available in 2012.
The Preferred Customer Group will permit Evatran to zero in on its critical areas of product launch and its recent partnership for installation with Sears Home Services. The incentive is open to the first 500 Chevrolet Volt or Nissan Leaf reservations by customers who can avail this incentive without any upfront admission fees to join the Preferred Customer Group by reserving a system.
