Mesa Wind Farm Implements PPA with Californian Utility

Western Wind Energy has declared that its 30 MW Mesa Wind Farm situated near Palm Springs in California has implemented a Power Purchase Agreement ("PPA") with an important Californian Utility. The terms of the agreement are not disclosed, but the company has revealed that the price obtained will double the income obtained from Mesa. The new PPA encompasses the current equipment. The contract is subject to standard regulatory approvals.

Mesa has recorded the highest wind speeds annually for any functional wind farm in North America. The year to date wind speed is 10.7 m/s or 24 mi/h. These exclusive wind speeds have been generated since its opening in the year 1984.

The President of Western Wind Energy, Jeff Ciachurski has stated that the company is elated about implementing its new PPA at Mesa. Since the Mesa wind farm has the highest wind speeds of any North American wind farm it offers long-term flexibility not in its present form alone but also as a re-powered project in the coming days. Western Wind is proud of owning its sites at highly productive regions worldwide.

Western Wind Energy is a renewable energy generation firm that is vertically integrated renewable energy manufacturing organization that presently owns 165 MW of rated wind and solar capacity in the States of Arizona and California. Western Wind owns and operates solar and wind energy generating facilities.
