SunWater Solar and Tenderloin Neighbourhood Development Corporation (TNDC) team up for the installation of two solar thermal systems in residential buildings in San Francisco.
The two solar heating systems will consist of 40 solar collectors and 24 collectors, which were provided at discounted rates by California Solar Initiative-Thermal.
The solar-water heating systems are part of TNDC’s Green Retrofit Initiative; this initiative is aimed at making TNDC’s buildings more energy efficient. The initiative is sponsored by the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH) and Enterprise Community Partners. Apart from installing solar-heating systems, installing low-flow showerheads, toilets, boiler replacements and installing energy efficient lighting systems will also be carried out as part of the initiative. The contractor for the project was Fine Line Construction based at San Francisco. Solar thermal systems are useful in bringing down water-heating bills for the low-income houses by a large extent.
SunWater Solar manages the design and installation of commercial solar thermal systems. They have rich experience in installing domestic water heating systems that use solar heating and cooling technologies. The solar thermal projects from SunWater solar are based on solar technology and are used in a variety of industries.
