Conetwork Erneuerbare Energien (CEE), an equity investment company based in Hamburg, is expanding its portfolio of solar parks with the acquisition of two new ground-mounted solar photovoltaic systems from Gehrlicher Solar, a global photovoltaics company.
The new photovoltaic systems have a combined capacity of 11.4 MWp, and they increase CEE’s total power capacity to over 70 MW. The projects were started in December, 2011 and are expected to be completed shortly. One solar park is to be located in southern Thuringia, in Rohr and the second park is to be situated in Lower Franconia, in Ebern. CEE already has another solar photovoltaic park in Ebern. The Rohr solar park will provide 4.3 MW of solar power, while the Ebern solar park will supply 7.1 MW of power to the local power grid. Siemens inverters are used in both the parks. Sunowe solar modules have been employed in the Rohr park, and First Solar modules have been utilized in the Ebern solar park.
Gehrlicher Solar has developed the project and is also the technical lead operator and EPC contractor for the ground-mounted photovoltaic systems. CEE will take care of the business management for the new solar parks. It has already acquired four solar parks from Gehrlicher since 2008.
CEE holds investments in wind power, geothermal, photovoltaic and biomass renewable energy segments. It is also a member in the Innogy Renewables Technology Fund I.
