ESA Renewables has announced the commissioning of a 500 kW DC solar photovoltaic (PV) system in Fuquay-Varina,North Carolina. The solar array was developed and constructed by the company, who also installed the monitoring system.
According to the terms of the Power Purchase Agreement, ESA will offer maintenance and operation services during the contract period. The company will sell the power produced from the installation to Progress Energy Carolinas.
According to Jeffrey Burkett, ESA’s President, the company is elated to commission this Fuquay-Varina solar project, which has enabled it to be a part of sustainable energy solution of North Carolina. The company has installed the monitoring system onsite, which enables it to offer maintenance control and high level operations for optimal power generation.
The company has installed the solar PV array on the building’s rooftop of Purfoy Road, Wake County. This installation encloses the roof area of 55,867 sq. ft. and may produce electricity that is equal to the power utilized annually by 83 average homes in North Carolina.
Holocene, a North Carolina-based renewable energy company, has acquired the PV system at commissioning.
ESA expanded this solar project, mounted 2,016 Canadian Solar 250 Wp and 245 Wp CS5P modules and offered EPC services, to help in grid-connection.
The SunSense Commercial Solar PV program of Progress Energy Carolinas assisted in realizing this solar PV project. This Fuquay-Varina array is the largest operating SunSense solar array in North Carolina.
