AU Optronics (AUO), one of the world's largest providers of display and solar total solutions, is now prepared to offer US-made solar modules to its clients by leveraging its local service portfolio.
The development expands the company’s solar module capacity across Asia, America and Europe. In addition, the purchase of a 9 MW solar project in the Pennsylvania School District represents AUO's growth in the US market.
The high-quality high-efficiency and solar modules from AUO are extensively recognized for their performance in both residential and commercial sectors. In addition, they assisted the company in securing major utility and government projects.
The VP of AUO’s solar business division, James Chen commented that they continue to develop enhanced technology and increase their local services to deliver US-made solar solutions for residential, commercial and utility customers.
The 9 MW solar power project is the largest plant in Pennsylvania and is also acclaimed as one of the biggest in American school districts. The plant will include 37,500 units of AUO's high-efficiency solar modules and will have a capacity of 10,880,000 kWh of energy per year. The energy will be sufficient for daily use of about 5,000 students in five schools, and the project can help reduce around 6,663 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. The Pennsylvanian project is anticipated to be completed in September, 2012.
The company’s high-efficiency solar modules comply with TAA (Trade Agreements Act) and BAA (Buy American Act) of American Federal Acquisition Regulation. The modules are also listed in California Energy Commission (CEC).
