Solaire Generation, a specialist in solar carport design, fabrication, innovation and technology, has commissioned a solar canopy at the headquarters of New Jersey Meadowlands Commission (NJMC) along with SunDurance Energy, a solar energy company.
The 120-kW solar canopy or carport comprises 504 photovoltaic panels and will meet nearly 20% of the electricity requirements of the facility located in Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
The canopy measures 15 ft in height and 230 ft in length. SunDurance Energy has designed the solar carport by employing the Premium F2 solar structure, which is designed and manufactured by Solaire Generation. NJMC’s New Jersey site currently gets 100% of its energy from renewable sources. This has been facilitated through the electricity generated by the new solar canopy along with renewable energy obtained from the NJMC 1A Landfill solar structure through a third-party supplier. SunDurance Energy has designed and constructed the NJMC 1A Landfill project.
The solar project serves as a worthy model representing New Jersey’s global status as a leader in solar energy deployment. It also describes the advantages of renewable energy for over 15,000 students participating in the company’s environmental education programs. Thus, the solar system not only meets the electricity needs of NJMC but also acts as a valuable educational tool for children and provides a statement of Governor Christie’s sustainability policy.
