Gehrlicher Solar has completed the installation of Pereruela Solar Park in Zamora, Spain in December 2011. This is Gehrlicher Solar’s largest photovoltaic (PV) project in Spain.
The 10 MW solar park will be transferred to European Solar Power Funds 1, an investment fund in Germany dealing in photovoltaic (PV) projects, which are managed by KGAL. The solar park is the second installation in Zamora and a total of 14 MW has been installed in the region.
The solar park has a production capacity of approximately 15 million kWh of electricity per annum. The amount is equivalent to energy requirements of 3,960 residents per year and to annual saving of nearly 5,000 tons of carbon dioxide.
The company has been selected to design, manage, construct, operate and maintain KGAL’s ground-mounted PV installation project. The project includes installation of 122,584 modules from First Solar and 14 SMA inverters. The installation enhances the overall energy generated by Gehrlicher Solar in Spain to more than 40 MW.
KGAL’s Managing Director, Dr. Klaus Wolf stated that the Pereruela Solar Park is the company’s 13th PV project in Spain. A wide range of funds, managed by KGAL in the country, currently operate power facilities with an overall capacity of approximately 76 MW.
