Urban Green Energy (UGE), a designer and manufacturer of flexible wind turbines and hybrid wind or solar systems, has unveiled a new hybrid renewable energy product for telecom applications.
The Fusion solution considerably decreases the operating costs at telecom stations and reduces environmental footprint by minimizing the dependency of telecom tower on diesel generators.
UGE has designed the Fusion hybrid system by understanding the requirement for a cost-effective and reliable solution in the telecoms sector. The system has reliability similar to diesel generators. The hybrid cleantech solution has been developed particularly for integration into current off-grid telecom sites, which operate mainly on diesel generators. Fusion integrates an advanced control system, a series of solar panels and UGE's superior wind turbines, to offer a reliable and low-maintenance system to customers. The system delivers free energy for a whole day.
Fusion also employs components from UGE's smart grid applications, which enable simultaneous control of different energy sources and the capability to monitor and analyze the hybrid system from a central place. In addition, the renewable energy solution incorporates ViewUGE, a proprietary remote monitoring energy system of UGE. The ViewUGE will allow users to closely monitor all features of their system, including energy production, load indicators, diesel consumption and battery charge.
UGE's Fusion solution is modular, which makes it easily adaptable to a large number of telecoms stations. The solution is now being used by three leading telecoms companies in the world. Additionally, Fusion is powering a national defense agency’s remote communication towers.
