NRG Solar, a solar power developer, has partnered with PsomasFMG, a provider of affordable solar systems, to build two solar projects with a total combined capacity of more than 11 MW in California.
The projects include a 3.3 MW project for the County of Orange and a 7.3 MW development for the William S. Hart School District in Santa Clarita.
NRG Solar will be delivering raw materials, including power inverters and solar panels and will also provide financial resources. PsomasFMG will be responsible for deigning and managing the construction of the solar projects with support from an EPC contractor. Power purchase agreements have been signed with the facility owners to purchase the solar-generated electricity.
The County of Orange project includes installation of solar panels for five facilities, including County Registrar of Voters and Peace Officer’s Training Facility. The installations will enable the county as well as the school district to produce renewable energy and to achieve clear perception into their power costs for the upcoming years.
Thomas G. Mauk, the County of Orange’s Executive Officer, stated that though solar project development for a government agency like them is a complex process, they are confident that PsomasFMG will make the county greener and provide significant cost savings through its technical expertise, integrity and track record.
Tom Doyle, NRG Solar’s President and CEO, remarked that the partnership advances the solar power development in California to help meet the renewable energy objectives of the state.
