LS9, a developer of sustainable products that address the requirements of global chemical and fuel sectors, has won the Sustainable Biofuels Technology Award for its industrial biotechnology platform.
The award was presented at the 2012 World Biofuels Markets Congress and Exhibition, which took place at the Beurs-World Trade located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands from March 13 to 15.
Claire Poole, Green Power Conferences’ Event Director, noted that they had thousands of applications from across the world, including the whole biofuels value chain.
The President and CEO of LS9, Ed Dineen, stated that the winning of the 2012 Sustainable Biofuels Technology Award represents the team’s efforts to commercialize LS9's technology for the manufacture of renewable chemicals and fuels worldwide.
The 2012 Sustainable Biofuels Awards has been developed to honor remarkable innovation in the development of renewable chemicals and fuels. LS9's biotechnology platform allows the conversion of a wide range of renewable feedstocks into drop-in fuels. It provides process simplicity, feedstock flexibility, efficient usage and low costs in a variety of fermentation-derived solutions, ranging from vehicle fuels to chemicals for personal care products, detergents and lubricants.
LS9 had received the highest environmental honor from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in June 2010.
