Aide Solar, a producer of photovoltaic (PV) modules, has launched a range of Quasi-mono modules for its customers in the large-scale utility market. The new Quasi-mono module portfolio includes 21 additional models based on enhanced cell technology.
The modules are offered in both 60 and 72 solar cell designs and the power ratings range from 230 to 320 W. Surface color of the Quasi-mono modules is uniform and has about 4% greater conversion efficiency than traditional polycrystalline modules. Aide Solar’s Quasi-mono PV modules have received UL certification and will be launched in the US market.
The expansion of Aide Solar’s product portfolio helps the company to meet its customers’ need for higher solar power production. The Director of Aide Solar, Raymond Wiley noted that the Quasi-mono modules’ ability to generate more energy per square meter offers an ideal solution to their clients for tracker or ground-mount solar installation projects.
Sam Wilkinson, IMS Research’s senior research analyst for photovoltaics market, remarked that the large-sized solar systems of more than 1 MW occupied a major position in the PV industry, especially in the utility markets in 2011. These projects are expected to surpass the rest of the PV industry and reach considerable growth in 2012 and in further years to come. The market volume of the large solar systems is predicted to double by 2015. Therefore, products like Aide Solar’s Quasi-mono modules that are ideal for these large installations can result in a successful strategy.
