Innotech Solar (ITS), a Norway-based manufacturer of high quality solar PV modules and solar power plant solutions, has designed EcoMax, a new 72-cell solar PV module. The product has been developed using re-processed solar cells and is larger than the traditional 60-cell modules.
The EcoMax module has been developed mainly for large-scale projects, where there is a need for shorter installation time and higher cost savings. When compared to traditional modules, approximately 20% less EcoMax modules are required to attain the same power output. This leads to reduced installation costs and time. The 72-cell solar modules produce a higher yield and have an outstanding carbon footprint.
Dr. Thomas Hillig, ITS’ Director Sales & Marketing EMEA, remarked that environmentally conscious customers will like the EcoMax modules, as their manufacturing process consumes very less energy. The EcoMax72-cell solar modules are offered in various power ratings, ranging from 270 W to 280 W.
When compared to conventional crystalline silicon cells, the re-processed solar cells used for manufacturing the modules reduce energy consumption by approximately 90%. The internal research teams of ITS have developed a breakthrough process that restores defective solar cells at full capacity. With an infrared camera, the defective parts are identified and are automatically isolated using special lasers. The cells are strictly tested by employing various techniques, including thermal imaging to ensure the exceptional quality of the 72-cell modules.
