A Chinese manufacturer of solar cells and modules, China Sunergy has started solar module production in France.
The company has reached this milestone through collaboration with KDG Energy, a producer of high quality photovoltaic modules in France. In November 2011, both the companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), under which KDG Energy will produce solar modules for the Chinese company in France. China Sunergy will supply the essential parts to KDG Energy for manufacturing the solar modules. The modules will be traded under China Sunergy’s brand name.
The modules fabricated by KDG Energy will be named as ‘CSUN Made in France’ and will pass the tests that are carried out on the flash, lamination and string of cells in France. The commercial production of the ‘CSUN Made in France’ modules was officially started by KDG Energy in mid-March 2012. The first shipment of the ‘CSUN Made in France’ modules was made to Akuo Energy Group, a renewable energy company based in Paris.
Mr. Stephen Cai, CEO of China Sunergy, stated that France has been a key market for their business development. The collaboration with KDG Energy will allow the company to further expand its business in the country and will also help China Sunergy to enhance its position as a preferred supplier in the European market.
