An International New & Renewable energy special exhibition, SWEET 2012, was held at the Kimdae Jung Convention Center in Honam area on April 24, 2012.
The seventh renewable exhibition was overseen by Korea Energy Management Corporation in Gwangju Jeonnam Region, Korea Wind Energy Industry Association, KOTRA, Kimdae jung Convention Center and Energy Kyungjae Newspaper and co-hosted by Jeollanam-do and Gwangju metropolitan city.
The event was conducted to offer solutions for energy issues, global warming and to afford a platform for overseas renewable energy sector.
About 10 countries including Taiwan, China, Turkey, Germany, Japan, Australia and America participated and 30 countries including Kazakhstan, Jordan, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Spain and France attended the event. Nearly 190 companies participated and 200 big buyers from 183 companies attended the event. A 1:1 export skull session, especially, international purchaser promotion pavilion was organized as well in the event.
A wind industry pavilion was arranged, wherein, several companies including Top Sun, Grand Solar, Pishon Energy, Geum Poong Energy, Kangnam Solar Heat, DMS, SPP Yulchon Energy, Hyundai Car and others participated.
The state governments in Australia including Western Australia, Victoria, Austrade and Trade Queensland of Australia have organized the Australia pavilion and International Pavilion was arranged for overseas companies such as EZINC from Turkey, Moser caer from India and Schletter from Germany.
Furthermore, over 10 conferences under various topics were held that includes Bio Energy Korea conference 2012, Seminar for development strategy of Offshore Wind Energy Rear Harbor, Wind industry seminar and Solar industry seminar.
In addition, to know about the current and future scenario of New & Renewable industry, different events like 'The 8th International New & Renewable Energy Science Competition', 'Exhibition and trial ride event of Hydrogen Fueled Cell Vehicle of Hyundai&Kia car' and 'On-site Tour and Industry observing for New & Renewable Energy' were held.
