Global Energy Announces Winners of Energy of Adventure Competition

Global Energy instituted the project Energy of Adventure in November 2011 and the winners of the nationwide contest are two young Russians, awarded with a round-the-world trip to discover the most fascinating energy-related stories globally. Maria Khromova and Egor Goloshov are the two winners, a power-industry professional and a future economist respectively.

Energy of Adventure’s key purpose is to attract attention to modern local and global issues and to motivate people to think of new solutions. Global Energy president Igor Lobovsky stated that the non-profit organization desires that the Russian people must understand the importance of issues like energy efficiency and energy saving and that is the reason for sponsoring these young people to traverse the globe and draw inputs from companies, people and authorities worldwide. This is a very special opportunity as well as an onerous responsibility.

The two researchers will travel around the world over three months to 21 countries. They will visit advanced countries in the US, Europe and Asia as well as Australia, Brazil, Tanzania, Israel, Bahrain, Kazakhstan and the UAE. Daily, the researchers will share their power industry findings and impressions as well as their small adventures through Facebook and Twitter.

Maria Khromova studied at the Moscow State University in the geophysics faculty and developed a keen interest in the energy industry. She is presently pursuing a second University degree at the Moscow State Institute for Foreign Relations (MGIMO). She is excited about travelling around the world and intends to use the inputs collected to write a scientific paper.

Egor Goloshov is deeply interested in renewable energy sources like wind, tidal and solar energy . He is enrolled in the Moscow Higher School of Economics.
