The novel ProSim SPOT Light SpO2 Functional Tester from Fluke Biomedical, a global provider of test and measurement equipment and services to the healthcare industry, has achieved the RoHS E environmentally-friendly label. It is the first biomedical equipment on the market to attain this certification.
The label confirms that the new lightweight and flexible tester is developed to offer protection to people and the environment from hazardous substances like hexavalent chromium, mercury and lead.
The SPOT Light tester has already been denoted as the most eco-friendly SpO2 test device. Other products in the market use a disposable model that continuously depends on batteries and finger sensors. However, the disposal of batteries and electronics is harmful to the environment, stated Jamey Smart, Product Manager for Fluke Biomedical Hence, Fluke Biomedical aimed at designing a device that is both green and affordable, which means small footprint and huge savings.
SPOT Light includes three custom presets, which are designed to make the tool, an easiest-to use and the fastest device on the market available today to perform pulse oximeter functional testing. The device sets up within seconds to transfer artifact noise, transmission, perfusion, heart rate, SpO2 saturation and eight different custom r-curves to a patient monitor or pulse oximeter at plus or minus 1% accuracy. SPOT Light is also designed with a LCD display and three buttons to view each signal output that is sent to the oximeter and to change parameters in an effortless and rapid manner. In addition, the device is fitted with an exchangeable, long-life battery.
