U.S. Navy to Receive Soluxe Solar’s First Solar Flare Award

Soluxe Solar, a solar company based in Connecticut, has announced the winner of its first ‘Solar Flare’ award, a weekly honor conferred to a company or individual making significant contribution to the solar field.

The U.S. Navy is receiving the first Solar Flare award for the creation of a new type of underwater solar panels that are capable of powering underwater senor and electronics systems. The novel panels are designed to generate solar power in large quantity at depths down to 9 m. Besides providing benefits to the U.S. Navy, the innovative technology will also be helpful to ocean floor scientists, enabling them to spare more amount of time under water without wasting much energy.

Soluxe Solar’s Chief Executive Officer, Jeffrey Mayer stated that both solar awareness and solar technology is growing at a remarkable pace. The developments and increased awareness for the potential of solar is outstanding. The company wants to put some of the astounding achievements and champions involved in the solar cause under the limelight. For this purpose, it has introduced the Solar Flare award.

Mayer further said that the new development not only demonstrates the capability of the U.S. Navy in the advancement of solar in an unprecedented capacity, but also helps ocean scientists to carry out their own research works and innovations in other fields.
