Helix Power Generators has announced a unique and efficient power conversion system that utilizes and converts wasted letdown pressure into electrical power. The system from Langson Energy is a Gas Letdown Generator (GLG) that converts wasted energy into profit. It has a low cost of maintenance, low cost of power and zero carbon emissions.
Helix Power Generators is an authorized dealer for Langson Energy’s GLG. The president and owner of Helix Power Generators, Rick Dixon, states that the GLG has the capacity to utilize the kinetic energy in waste pressure from any type of source. It does not require organic mediums or heat exchangers for transferring energy. These systems are expensive.
The GLG supports various sources such as natural gas, dry steam, wet steam, water, geothermal fluid, and other types of steam and pressure. It demonstrates significant advantages when compared to other conventional devices for capturing waste energy.
As it is a positive displacement device it does not get affected by variations in flow and pressure. The GLG is based on "disruptive technology" for efficient conversion of pressure. The GLG can be used as a supplement for pressure reduction valves. The bearing requires maintenance every 5.71 years or 50,000 hours when run continuously. The cost for converting the energy works out to less than 3 cents per kWh. The device uses off-the-shelf components that are easily available.
The GLG can be used by industrial companies, power producers, national defense agencies, and municipalities.
