Trina Solar, a manufacturer of high qualitysolar photovoltaic (PV) modules, has expanded into Canada by opening a new sales and business development center in Ontario. The formation of a subsidiary, Trina Solar (Canada), signifies Trina Solar‘s commitment towards the solar PV market in Canada.
The major drive for this establishment is the recognition received form three organizations for Trina Solar’s corporate viability, field performance and sustainable practices. The company’s solar panels have been placed first on the California Energy Commission's PTC/STC ratio. In addition, Trina Solar was ranked first in the Sustainable Growth Index Field Performance of PRTM and was also placed first among global solar panel producers by the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalitionin its annual global review of sustainable manufacturing practices.
Trina Solar has a strong solar panel range, which includes new Honey modules developed with advanced multicrystalline cell technology. The Honey modules offer highest power output, establishing them as best in their series.
In addition to the establishment of a new operation, the company has signed an OEM agreement with Silfab Ontario through its subsidiary, Trina Solar Energy Development. Under the terms of the agreement, Silfab will deliver sufficient production capacity to Trina Solar in order to bring high-quality modules in the Canadian market. Trina Solars elected for Silfab after conducting a comprehensive review on internal and external supply chain as well as quality control teams. The collaboration is part of Trina Solar's Canadian growth strategy and enables both the companies to serve one of the fastest developing PV markets in the world.
