Reed Exhibitions, the world's leading event organiser, has now announced the first All-Energy Canada, which is being held on October 2nd and 3rd 2013 at Exhibition Place, Toronto.
Having acquired All-Energy, the UK's largest renewable energy exhibition and conference, in July 2011 and bought a majority share in All-Energy Australia in early 2012, Reed Exhibitions is now expanding into the North American renewables market.
This new event is being held in association with the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA) and, like the two other All-Energy events, will encompass all aspects of renewable and sustainable energy, combining a major exhibition and highly relevant and topical conference.
Dr. David DeYoe, President of the OSEA Board, explains: "OSEA is thrilled that Reed Exhibitions has chosen to collaborate with us for this continent's All-Energy. Clearly they recognize the important role that OSEA has played in shaping the sustainable energy agenda in Ontario and in providing a positive influence in the balance of North America. The All-Energy event model has been successful in both the UK and Australia, and together we will make it a success here."
"Developing All-Energy Canada with OSEA is an important step in securing our position in the North American alternative energy market," says Jonathan Heastie, Exhibition Director, Renewable and Alternative Energy Global Group, Reed Exhibitions. "What's more it is a key element of our global renewable energy strategy, the expansion of which was a deciding factor when acquiring All-Energy.
"Our growing portfolio of global alternative energy events also includes World Smart Energy Week (Tokyo), World Future Energy Summit (Abu Dhabi), Asia Future Energy Forum (Singapore), and Fenesucro & Agrocana (Sertaozinho, Brazil). Over 165,000 visitors attended the 18 Reed Exhibitions' alternative energy events in 2011, meeting 3,000 exhibitors and taking part in fascinating and highly relevant conference sessions, and networking to great effect. We will leverage our knowledge and contacts within the industry through this portfolio of leading events to help develop All-Energy Canada".
The All-Energy 'parent' show, held in Aberdeen, Scotland annually since 2001, is often referred to as "the AGM of the UK renewables industry" and now attracts total attendance in excess of 8,300 with nearly 600 exhibiting companies and a packed conference and seminar programme of over 300 speakers dealing with all forms of renewable energy and the opportunities and challenges faced by the sectors.
All-Energy Canada will strive to replicate the success of its sister events, bringing together the renewables and sustainability sectors at one key exhibition and conference.
Heastie continues, "Canada boasts similar excellent natural resources which are, and can be, used to generate clean, sustainable energy. Ontario, as Canada's most populous province, is leading the way in supporting renewables through the Green Energy Act (GEA) and OSEA's role in driving forward the green agenda, both in the province and across the country, was instrumental in our choosing them as the key industry stakeholder with which to develop All-Energy Canada".
Kristopher Stevens, OSEA's Executive Director adds, "The All-Energy Canada conference and exhibition is designed as a cost-effective and comprehensive multi-track event which will include: First Nation opportunities; smart cities and smart grid; energy efficiency; energy conservation; renewable energy generation; and finance and venture capital.
Kristopher concludes, "We are pleased that John Kourtoff, an OSEA Board Director and Jonathan Heastie of Reed Exhibitions will be Co-chairing the All-Energy Canada Advisory Board. Both Reed Exhibitions and OSEA see this collaboration as an important step in meeting our commitment to further advancing the sustainable sector in Ontario and the rest of North America."
