Bentek Solar’s 1000VDC Fused Disconnect Safety System to be Displayed at SPI Exhibition

Bentek Solar, a pioneer in engineering and manufacturing solutions for complex power distribution and electro-mechanical systems for solar and semiconductor industries, will display its 1000VDC Fused Disconnect Safety System (FDSS) along with visible blade disconnects at the forthcoming exhibition, Solar Power International (SPI).

The exhibition is expected to take place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, from September 10 to 13, 2012.

Mitch Schoch, Bentek Solar’s President and CEO, stated that the Bentek Solar FDSS is modeled for 1000VDC utility-scale PV systems for fitting with 1000VDC utility-scale inverters. He also said that the FDSS provides one solution for five fundamental system requirements.

Jim Peplinski, Bentek Solar’s Chief Technology Officer, said that the Bentek Solar FDSS is an advanced PV product and provides the interlocking disconnect system design to provide safety and to meet the ESA Canadian OESC standards for 1000VDC utility-scale PV installations.

The 1000VDC Fused Disconnect Safety System provides a single solution for five customer requirements, namely, Bentek Zone Current Monitoring; multiple load-break disconnects that meet NEC requirements; over current circuit protection; recombining input circuits or eliminating inverter fuses; and visible blade disconnects for coming in arrays.

John H. Buckley, Bentek Solar’s Executive Sales and Marketing, said that the company is currently exporting the FDSS for large utility-scale projects as well as accepting new orders for the FDSS. He also stated that the FDSS is being used in various 100 MW+ utility-scale projects all through North America.
