Habberstad BMW has further established itself as a leading provider of not only the ultimate driving machines, but also as an automotive leader for environmentally responsible vehicles and practices.
Huntington, New York - On May 6, 2014 Habberstad BMW delivered one of the nation's first i3 electric cars to local Long Island residents, Carolyn & Richard Dahab. The i Series is a major departure for BMW, long known as a world leader in performance "driving machines." The all electric i Series has been lauded by critics and industry insiders alike as a revolution in environmentally conscious technology, design and connectivity, performing equally well on the highway and in the city. The i3 has an effective operating range of about 118 miles, making it the perfect choice for the commuter and drivers who seek stylish urban transportation.
Habberstad BMW has long been focused on environmental responsibility with several ongoing initiatives; including the construction of New York's first auto dealership to be built to LEED specifications, producing a more sustainable and efficient building. Habberstad BMW was also a partner in the MINI E Field Testing Trial, providing several Zero emissions electric MINIs, at no cost, to be used by two local municipalities for a one year period. Habberstad regularly sponsors green living educational events and other events that encourage environmental consciousness. "As a franchise car dealer, we are committed to the sustainability of our local community, and the i3 complements these efforts." James McCarthy, General Manager of Habberstad BMW, further explains, "we appeal to our electric vehicle customers with our unique and local customer centric approach. Our dealerships are conveniently located, competitively priced, and we provide loaner vehicles during vehicle maintenance and service."
Habberstad BMW will continue to offer vehicles that are not only the standard for performance, but will remain at the forefront of environmental awareness and responsibility. This commitment is not limited to the green and electric vehicles it offers but in the way it conducts its business every day.
