Green Business Alliance, an organization committed to the integration of environmental stewardship into daily business practices, today announced that it has entered into a relationship with Constellation NewEnergy, a leading competitive supplier of electricity, natural gas and energy-related services to commercial, industrial and institutional customers throughout North America. Members and participating businesses in the Green Business Alliance's "Greenify" program can purchase Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from Constellation NewEnergy.
"We are very pleased that we have secured this effort with an experienced player such as Constellation NewEnergy, which has a proven track record of providing renewable energy for customers of all sizes, including small to medium-sized business customers," said Hilary Kusel, Executive Director of Green Business Alliance. "Offering our members access to a leading industry provider solidifies the high standards we have developed in our 'Guidelines to Greenify' and simplifies the participation process."
RECs represent the environmental attributes of one MWh (megawatt hour) of generation. Companies that purchase RECs are supporting the operation of facilities that generate renewable energy. Constellation NewEnergy offers a suite of products that are made up of wind, solar, biomass, landfill and hydroelectric resources.
"This relationship with Green Business Alliance was a natural fit for Constellation NewEnergy," said Carrie Cullen Hitt, vice president of product management -- renewable products for Constellation NewEnergy. "Constellation NewEnergy and Green Business Alliance are committed to making renewable energy solutions more accessible to businesses of all types and sizes throughout the United States."
