Copenhagen Atomics and iPower Group have today signed an LOI to develop a partnership that will lead to scalable, new, cost-effective and fossil-free electricity production.
Copenhagen Atomic will install its first demonstration reactor powered by Thorium in Marviken and showcase the strength of their nuclear technology.
The partnership will also examine the conditions for scaling up the reactor capacity in Marviken.
Through the partnership, Marviken strengthens its position to build one of the foremost energy cluster environments in the world, The collaboration also opens doors for innovations in advanced nuclear reactors and new fuel solutions such as Thorium - which will shape the energy landscape of tomorrow.
With its expertise in future nuclear technology and Thorium fuel, Copenhagen Atomics will contribute valuable knowledge and experience to the Marviken Smart Energy Cluster. This will not only promote a sustainable energy transition, but also create new jobs and stimulate economic growth in the region.
The partnership between Copenhagen Atomics and iPower Group in the Marviken Smart Energy Cluster marks an important milestone in the realisation of future energy solutions. By combining our strengths and resources, we can take nuclear technology and fuel solutions to the next level and create a sustainable and secure energy future for generations to come, says Mads Steenberg, CEO of Copenhagen Atomics.
Marviken Smart Energy Cluster and iPower Group are proud to welcome Copenhagen Atomics. This partnership will allow us to collaborate in the development of cutting-edge technologies as Thorium rectors that enable reuse of nuclear waste and further accelerate innovation in the energy sector. We look forward to shaping a greener and more sustainable future together", says Niclas Adler, CEO of iPower Group and founder of Marviken Smart Energy Cluster.
