UNIBETON and iCrete Announce Clean Concrete Technology Partnership Agreement

iCrete, a clean technology leader and the world's premiere concrete technology company, and UNIBETON Ready Mix, one of the largest concrete producers in the Arabian Gulf, announced an exclusive licensing agreement today.

Under the agreement, UNIBETON, headquartered in Abu Dhabi and the largest concrete producer in the United Arab Emirates, will use the iCrete System throughout all of its 22 plants in the region.

Said Juan Carlos Terroba, iCrete Chief Executive Officer: "We are very pleased that the largest concrete producer in the United Arab Emirates will be using the iCrete System for its customers in the Gulf. UNIBETON has a reputation for quality and skills that has made them an industry leader in the region. The nations of the Gulf Cooperation Council are embarked on one of the most remarkable and important construction campaigns in history. UNIBETON is at the very center of this movement. These bold projects are advancing 21st Century building and infrastructure developments."

Said Dr. Jawaharal Gangaramani, President and Executive Chairman of the Al Fara'a Integrated Construction Group which owns UNIBETON Ready Mix: "We are committed to provide the nations of our region with the most technically advanced, sustainable, and environmentally responsible construction technologies available in the world today. We are very happy to join forces with a transformative global company like iCrete that uses quality systems and advanced techniques that substantially optimize concrete production and deployment."

The iCrete System optimizes concrete design and production for quality and durability. The manufacture of Portland cement -- the most common bonding agent in concrete -- is second only to the burning of hydrocarbons as an industrial generator of carbon dioxide worldwide. iCrete's production optimization system can substantially reduce a project's cement requirements and its carbon footprint.

UNIBETON, which produces more than four million cubic meters of concrete annually, is the main supplier to some of the region's largest construction projects including the famous Jumeirah Palm Island, the Emirates Aluminum Factory, the Khalifa port, the foundation of a 1 km tall tower in Dubai, the Landmark Tower for Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Bridge designed by award-winning architect Zaha Hadid, as well as many other large projects in UAE.
