Celsia Technologies (OTC:CLST) (BULLETIN BOARD: CLST) announces that it has been chosen by Nathaniel Group Inc. to provide the cooling solution for its concentrating photovoltaic (CPV) system for generating electricity. In June 2008, Nathaniel received a $250,000 grant from the Clean Energy Development Fund through the Vermont Department of Public Service to build a working prototype of a CPV system.
"Nathaniel Group has worked hard to identify best in class vendors for the CPV project," explained Joel Melnick, president of the Nathaniel Group. "We knew the thermal solution was going to be a particularly difficult challenge because of our design requirements. Most notable among these were a very small footprint requirement, the ability to operate through an enormous temperature range, and the need to remain effective in a variety of positions as the system tracks the sun throughout the day."
"While CPV systems may offer many advantages, including ultra high efficiency at a low cost per watt, the very nature of magnifying and concentrating the sun's rays onto a small photovoltaic cell produces a tremendous amount of heat," Celsia's CEO, Joe Formichelli noted. "Using our patented NanoSpreader(tm) vapor chamber technology we were able to meet all of the Nathaniel Group's specifications for the thermal module. We look forward to being part of this next generation solar solution."
