Apr 2 2009
From April 1 to 7, 2009, sustainable development in France will hold the place of honor. Air Liquide is taking part in this week because the Group, which, since in creation, has had a long-term approach to its activities.
“Sustainable development means giving values to progress and the Group plans to involve all its employees in it.”
It has developed, starting in 2003, a specific approach to sustainable development wherever the Group operates.
Air Liquide’s commitment is based on four dimensions:
- Creating value for its shareholders;
- Developing the potential of the Group’s men and women;
- Preserving life and the environment;
- Innovating for tomorrow.
This structured sustainable development approach now has over 160 indicators and eight objectives primarily concerning the environment, men and women and innovation.
So for the first time in 2009, Air Liquide is publishing the carbon footprint of its main products worldwide. The Group is also more involved in the societal area with the creation in 2008 of the Air Liquide Foundation and in 2009 of the Air Liquide University.
The statutory auditors have been evaluating, since 2003, the Group’s performances in sustainable development. This review is a voluntary commitment on Air Liquide’s part to give more values to all these indicators intended for all the Company’s stakeholders, in particular, employees, individual shareholders, institutional investors and customers.
