Environmentally Friendly Flooring With Bamboo

Online flooring manufacturer-wholesaler BuildDirect has introduced horizontal style handscraped bamboo floors with a French bleed edge to the North American market under their Yanchi brand. This unique product allows for the visual effects of hardwood floors, along with the unique stability and eco-friendliness of bamboo flooring.

BuildDirect Co-Founder Robert Banks explains the significance of this unique product. "This is an exciting launch for us, because we know that flooring consumers want the look, the performance, and the 'green factor' in their floors. This new line offers all of that, as well as a unique design that brings out the beauty in each board, and in the floor surface overall."

One major feature of these new [handscraped bamboo floors that helps to achieve this effect is the French bleed edge, which is usually a feature of hardwood flooring. The edge design is defined by stained bevels between each flooring board surface. This adds depth and dimension to an already attractive surface.

"French bleed edges really make a floor 'pop'," says Banks. "It gives consumers a traditional yet stylish effect to suit pretty much any décor. And now with bamboo, consumers are benefiting from stable and decorative flooring that is the product of innovative green thinking, too."

BuildDirect offers four choices in bamboo floors with French bleed edges - Cognac, Burgundy, Champagne, and Bordeaux - all finished with thirteen coats of aluminum oxide for maximum durability. All selections are protected by a 25-year residential finish warranty, and a lifetime structural warranty.
