Freedom Renewable Energy offers a range of wind systems including the Tradewind system. The Tradewind system features the Skystream 3.7 wind turbine, a residential power appliance that is manufactured by Southwest Windpower. The wind turbine has the capacity to provide a continuous output of 1.9 kilowatts. The rated capacity of the wind turbine at peak is 2.6 kilowatts. The wind turbine features downwind design and advanced vibration technology, while offering a quiet operation.
The wind turbine of the Tradewind wind power system includes a rotor that is 12 feet in diameter. The rotor is constructed with three blades that are made of fiberglass reinforced composite. The swept area of the rotor is 115.7 square feet. The rotor rotates with the speed ranging from 50 to 352 RPM, while the tip speed is 213 feet per second. The cut-in wind speed of the wind turbine is 8 miles per hour and survival wind speed is 140 miles per hour.
The Tradewind wind power system features a two-way interface remote system that is wireless, to provide user control. The wind system, provided by Freedom Renewable Energy, has an electronic stall regulation braking system that can be controlled through redundant relay switch. The excess power generated by the wind system is fed back to the grid with the help of Southwest Windpower inverter. The Tradewind wind power system is available with monopole, free standing or guyed tower.
