Kuka Systems provides a range of automatic production systems including the KS Solarthermal Lasertec. This laser welding system is used in the manufacture of solar thermal panel collectors. The automatic production system is used to weld the tubes onto the solar thermal panel’s absorber surface. The laser welding system offers maximum flexibility with its modular structure. This modular structure helps to provide customised work pieces also.
The KS Solarthermal Lasertec laser welding system features all of its components in a single cell. It incorporates clamping fixtures that are work piece specific, along with standard components. The automatic solar thermal collector production system features both fine centering and pre-centering of the collector tubes. It can automatically adjust the focal point for various pulse control. The laser welding system, developed by Kuka Systems also features an integrated object extraction. In addition, the production system allows device adjusting for maintenance and set-up.
The KS Solarthermal Lasertec laser welding system can be used to produce collector tubes with different diameters ranging from 8 up to 25mm. In this solar collector welding system, the process is independent of the welding direction. Other features of the system include low hysteresis contact force that is controlled. The welding speed of the automated production system ranges from 200 up to 800mm, with the included pulsed laser. The dimensions of the KS Solarthermal Lasertec laser welding system are 765mm (length), 510mm (width) and 740mm (height), while the weight is 85kg.
