Vestas has received an order from Nordwind Handels GmbH, a German company, for the supply of 40 V90-2.0 MW wind turbines. The contract involves delivery, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines. A ten-year service agreement and a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution are also part of this contract. The installation process for these V90-2.0 MW wind turbines will begin during the fourth quarter of the year 2010 and the entire project is scheduled for completion by the beginning of the year 2011.
Nordwind Handels GmbH, situated in Beiersdorf-Freudenberg, was founded in the year 2003 and the company has been installing wind turbines only from Vestas. Nordwind Handels GmbH is one of the largest customers in Germany for Vestas. Carsten Paatsch, Managing director of Nordwind Handels- GmbH, remarked that the company is expecting an increasing growth in its business relations as a result of the partnership the company has been sharing with Vestas.
Hans Jorn Rieks, President of Vestas Central Europe, remarked that the company is delighted with its new German contract, which strengthens the company’s positive expectations for the German market. Rieks further stated that the company is pleased with the continuous cooperation from its business partner Nordwind Handels GmbH and Nordwind’s trust in Vestas’ technology.
