Solar Montana supplies solar inverters manufactured by Xantrex Technology. The Xantrex GT100E inverter is a three phase model that is specifically designed for grid-connect photovoltaic as well as wind turbine applications.
This inverter incorporates the Maximum Power Point Tracking technology and also has insulated gate bi-polar transistors. These transistors function by minimizing power losses that occur during the power conversion process. Some of the features incorporated in the Xantrex GT100E inverter include user definable power tracking, Digital Signal Processor based controls, graphical user interface software, over and under voltage protection options and anti-islanding protection. The anti-islanding protection feature of the inverter from Solar Montana protects it by preventing back feeding of the inverter.
The Xantrex GT100E inverter has a total weight of 870 kilograms and measures 190.5 centimeters, 120.5 centimeters and 60.6 centimeters in height, width and depth, respectively. It operates at ambient temperature conditions ranging from -10 degree centigrade to +45 degrees centigrade. This inverter from Solar Montana has a forced convection mode of cooling and is available with a telephone modem for remote monitoring applications.
The inverter from Solar Montana has a continuous power rating of 100 kilowatts AC with a nominal DC power rating of 105 kilowatts DC. The peak inverter efficiency of the Xantrex GT100E inverter is 96.6 per cent, while the European weighted efficiency is 96 per cent.
