WES Canada sells three types of grid-connected wind turbines manufactured by WES Netherlands. These grid-connected wind turbines range from 2.5kW to 250kW. They can be used for different applications such as house, office, school, farm, factory, apartment building, bungalow, hotel and park. The WES5 Tulipo, called “urban turbine”, is a small wind turbine constructed for urban environments. Its blades have low rotations without vibration or noise.
The WES5 Tulipo wind turbine is equipped with fixed stall blades that require minimum maintenance. With the low nominal wind speed, high electrical power is generated. This wind generator incorporates a 5.2kW generator and a PLC control, which has automatic functions. The WES5 Tulipo can be mounted on a 6 or 12m monopole tower and fixed on a flat-roofed building.
The nominal output of the WES5 Tulipo wind turbine is 2.5kW at 140RPM, and the nominal wind speed is 9m/s. The cut-in and cut-out wind speeds are 2m/s and 20m/s, respectively. The hub is available in a height of 12.25m or 6.25m. The wind generator from WES Canada uses three blades made of glass-reinforced epoxy. The diameter of the rotor is 5m. This grid-connected wind turbine includes an IGBT inverter. It incorporates a spring-powered electromagnetic brake. The total construction of the WES5 Tulipo is galvanized, and the nose and cover are made of glass reinforced epoxy material.
