Kyocera to Launch New KD Series High-Performance Solar Module

Kyocera, one of the largest vertically integrated manufacturers of solar power products in the world, is set to launch a new high-performance solar module from its successful KD series in the solar market. The new solar module, KD215GH-2PU, is rugged and with an optimized junction box it provides high nominal output. The module is capable of meeting high demands in every field.

The KD215GH-2PU solar module, under standard conditions, attains a nominal output of 215 watts at 14.4% efficiency. Compared to the KD210GH-2PU, the previous solar model in the KD series, this new KD215GH-2PU solar module with improved cells has increased its output by 5 watts with the same module size.

The junction box has also been upgraded with the contacts soldered instead of clamped joints, thus preventing potential fire hazards. Electrical connections of lower quality in the junctions may lead to fire. Connections that are soldered provide 100% safety. The junction box with high-quality soldered connections and full encapsulation provide protection against overheating and corrosion. It also meets the 5V-A non-combustibility rating that complies with UL94. The solar module featuring a sturdy frame is capable of withstanding up to 5,400 N/m2 of high wind pressure and snow load.

Since all the components for the modules are made by the company itself, high quality standards of the modules are guaranteed. All the KD series modules manufactured by Kyocera meets the new IEC 61215 ed.2 and IEC 61730 standards.
