Ascent Solar Technologies, a leading flexible, thin-film PV module developer, has selected “Manufacturing Software Suite” developed by Eyelit to support the photovoltaic production line at FAB 2 in Thornton, Colorado.
Eyelit’s software enables Ascent Solar to track and monitor its entire production process ranging from incoming rolls to finished photovoltaic solar modules. The software allows the company to merge its several homegrown Excel-based tracking sheets and Microsoft Access databases. The asset management solution from Eyelit enables equipment maintenance management to be improved. It also helps to improve the automation of critical processes for thin-film photovoltaic production. The features in the software include maintenance tasks management, tool monitoring, alerts, and built-in warnings.
Ascent Solar’s Vice-President of Manufacturing, Zane Rakes, said the Eyelit’s software with its flexibility and capability is impressive when compared to other solutions utilized in PV. The implementation of the software is proceeding as per plans of the company and will go live at the end of the month, Rakes said.
Vice-President of Sales and Business Development at Eyelit, Dan Estrada, said the selection and implementation of the manufacturing software by Ascent Solar further reaffirms its flexibility and capabilities.
