New World Home and Hearst Join Hands to Create LEED-Certfied Green Homes

Hearst Magazines, publisher of the Country Living magazine, and New World Home have recently announced a tie-up for the Country Living Collection of modular homes. The collection has been inspired by the country style of homes and features USGBC LEED certification.

The leading sustainable housing developer, New World Home, focuses on combining historically inspired designs with state-of-the-art green practices and products to create the New Old Green Modular (NOGM) home platform.  Through the Country Living Green Modular Collection, house owners would be provided with high-performance and classic homes that surpass tough green standards. The collection provides multiple historically inspired designs reflecting the warm, inviting, and cosy styles that are usually found in the magazine pages.

The editors of Country Living magazine have selected exterior and interior details that include over-sized windows, open floor plans, fire places, and porches. The average cost of homes in this collection is $150-$200 per sq. ft., apart from land and site costs, and the area of homes ranges from 1,100 to 2,300 sq. ft.

Tyler Schmetterer, the co-founder and chief marketing officer of New World Home, comments that the Country Living Green Home Modular Collection focuses on the future of house building and creates widely available historically inspired green homes.

Schmetterer explains that New World Homes has leveraged its principles and experience to use a proprietary building systems design approach to integrate the latest practices and products worldwide. This helps in reducing energy consumption at a level that exceeds 50 percent, saving gallons of drinking water a year and imparting enhanced indoor air quality to homes compared to average houses.
