Amtech Systems Discloses Previously Announced Solar Order is from Yingli Green Energy Holding

Amtech Systems disclosed that a large solar order received from an existing customer that was announced in December 2009 is from Yingli Green Energy Holding Co., LTD. Amtech Systems supplies manufacturing equipment for the production of semiconductors, silicon wafers and solar cells throughout the world.

Yingli Green Energy had ordered fully automated diffusion furnace systems to be deployed in its 300 MW PANDA mono-crystalline expansion project. The equipment are expected to be shipped from second quarter 2010 beginning and through the third quarter end.

President and Chief Executive Officer of Amtech, J.S. Whang, said this large solar order from Yingli Green Energy is the outcome of a collaboration project to develop advanced high-efficiency solar cells. The partners for the project, which was announced last June, includes the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands, Yingli Green Energy, and solar subsidiary of Amtech, Tempress Systems. The company is delighted to be an important part of this PANDA project and happy to receive a follow-on order from a leading vertically integrated PV product producer in the world, Whang added.
