Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, visited Cree, a Durham-based company in North Carolina, to discuss important issues in the Obama administration’s radar that are vital to the middle class families in America including developing clean energy economy and creating manufacturing jobs that are well-paying.
Cree is a leading light-emitting diode (LED) products manufacturer. LED lighting revolution is being led by the company. The company manufactures LED lighting, LEDs, and semiconductor solutions for power and wireless applications.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cree, Chuck Swoboda, accompanied Vice President Biden during his tour of the company’s facility. The Vice President spoke with the company workers about the benefits of being employed in a green technology company.
Chuck Swoboda said the Obama administration’s ongoing support is important as the company promotes the value of sustainability and energy efficiency in today’s economy. While the company continues to lead the country in LED lighting revolution, it is creating green jobs in America right now, he added.
