We Energies Forms Construction Alliance to Build Glacier Hills Wind Park

To design and construct the Glacier Hills Wind Park, We Energies has formed an alliance of Wisconsin-based companies comprising Edgerton Contractors, Inc. based in Oak Creek, Michels Corporation based in Brownsville, and The Boldt Company based in Appleton.

The Glacier Hills Wind Park is proposed to be located in the towns of Scott and Randolph in Columbia County. The wind project is expected to produce over 400 million kWh of clean energy per annum, which is enough to meet the electricity needs of 45,000 homes.

Executive Vice President of Wisconsin Energy Corporation, the parent company of We Energies, Rick Kuester, stated that the alliance with home-state companies for developing the project will benefit the economy in Wisconsin as well as accomplishing a cost-effective approach to produce more energy from renewable energy sources. The project will utilize local labor and the talents of these companies, Kuester said. Kuester further commented that it was very important for the company and its customers to provide benefits to businesses in Wisconsin.
