Dr. Scott Rickert, President and CEO of Nanofilm, is a speaker at the NanoBusiness Conference/NYC nanotechnology conference, April 20, 2010, in New York City. His topic is “Nano-izing Today's Surfaces to Solve Energy, Environmental, And Waste Problems.”
Dr. Rickert’s presentation will focus on how nanofilms can create advanced performance characteristics at the surface of a substrate, maximizing the benefit from nanomaterials, keeping the costs of such benefits affordable, and integrating the technology more easily and cost-efficiently into current production systems. In particular, Dr. Rickert will address how nanofilm-based approaches are enabling breakthrough applications that reduce solid waste, improve the efficiency of alternative energy generation, curtail energy and water use, and reduce and replace environmental contaminants.
“Nanotechnology can contribute to the solution for an array environmental problems,” says Dr. Rickert. “Nanofilms are incredible tools for harnessing the potential of nanotechnology.”
NanoBusiness Conference/NYC brings together science, business and governmental leaders with the goal of developing the potential of nanotechnology as a transformative force. The NanoBusiness Alliance has been committed to innovation and keeping America competitive since its inception in 2001.
Other speakers at the event include Governor Howard Dean, former DNC Chairman, presidential candidate and six-term Governor; Jerome “The Bus” Bettis, one of the NFL’s most popular players; Michael Holman, Research Director, Lux Research; Scott Livingston, Chairman and CEO, Livingston Securities, LLC; and Douglas Jamison, Chairman, CEO and Managing Director, Harris & Harris Group.
