LaserShip Inc. announced its Ship Green initiative which sets the company on the path to a paperless, more environmentally friendly business model.
- For every client that switches to a paperless invoice service under the Ship Green initiative, LaserShip will make a donation to American Forests under their Global ReLeaf campaign. American Forests will then plant a tree in honor of that client.
- The Ship Green initiative plans to cut down on LaserShip's paper consumption by 30 percent by switching clients from paper invoicing to e-Billing and expects to plant 5,000 trees with American Forests over the next year.
"We all have a responsibility to reduce our environmental footprint," said Blake Averill, Executive VP of Sales and Marketing. "The Ship Green initiative is an opportunity for us to offer an easier and more environmentally friendly way for our clients to receive, review and pay their LaserShip invoice."
"We are in the business of planting trees for ecosystem restoration," said American Forests' Gerald Gray, Vice President, Forest Policy. "American Forests has planted 25 million trees in more than 500 projects across the United States and internationally. We are proud to be partnering with LaserShip to continue our tree planting efforts."
Since 1990, American Forests' Global ReLeaf campaign has been planting trees where they are desperately needed such as along hillsides to reduce erosion and streams to prevent polluted runoff and sedimentation as well as other ecologically significant areas.
