element14 creates an awareness about the important role played by design engineers to produce innovate designs that help protect the environment and fight climate change by making use of the natural energy available on the Earth.

Started by Marcelo da Luz in 1999, The Power of One Solar Car Project is a project dedicated for individuals from different backgrounds to work together to encourage the use of sustainable, clean energy. The project has created a blog on the website of element14 to share their developments with enthusiasts and engineers.

element14 has dedicated portals on legislation, power management and alternative energy to provide design engineers with a wealth of information so as to enable early-stage design and also an ideal environment wherein users can gain insight by interacting with industry experts and peers.

In the near future, element14 will feature a product designed by John Noble. In 2008, the design won an award at the Live EDGE competition.
