Xantrex offers the GT500E Grid Tie Inverter for use in grid-connected photovoltaic and wind turbine usages. The advanced maximum power point tracking technology incorporated in the model helps to increase energy output from the array of photovoltaic panels. The insulated gate bi-polar transistors deployed in the switching process reduce the power loss during the solar energy conversion process.
The height × width × depth measurement of the Xantrex GT500E Grid Tie Inverter is 211.2 cm x 240.6 cm x 60.5 cm and weighs 1770 kg. The electrical specifications of this module includes a nominal power rating of 500 kW, a suggested PV power of 560 kW, a nominal AC voltage of 315 Vac three phase, a nominal AC frequency of 50 Hz with optional provision for 60 Hz, a line power factor of 0.99 above 20% rated power, an AC current distortion of <3% THD at rated power and a maximum AC line current of 1040 A. The night consumption of this model is <100 W. The other electrical specifications of this module includes a minimum 450 VDC voltage for feed-in, a maximum DC current of 1120 Adc, a max open circuit voltage of 940 VDC, a power tracking window range of 450–800 V and a maximum efficiency of 98.1%.
The GT500E Grid Tie Inverter incorporates a digital signal processor-based control for self-diagnostics. The provided LCD display with keypad allows easy changes in settings. The inverter is designed to shutdown automatically during fluctuations in voltage and frequency. The graphical user interface software provided in the module helps in real-time monitoring.
