First Solar and NRG Energy announced that the largest solar photovoltaic project in California has started commercial operations. The 21-MW solar power plant was developed and built by First Solar in Blythe, California. The facility was acquired by the NRG Solar, a wholly owned subsidiary of NRG Energy. Southern California Edison (SCE) will buy the electricity generated by the solar power plant under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
Governor Edward G. Rendell said that Pennsylvania, after the approval by Commonwealth Financing Authority for 12 new green energy projects with investments of more than $10 million, is strengthening its position as a leader in solar energy. The proposed projects will have a total installed capacity of slightly more than 9.1 MW, which is enough supply power to about 1,000 homes.
The installation of the solar hot water system at Rehoboth was aimed at decreasing energy costs. The system installed was the Gobi brand of solar hot water system. A total of three Gobi solar hot water collectors were installed at Rehoboth by Flexera that saved a considerable amount of money. The house was heated using two separate solar hot water systems and the solar panels were split among these two to facilitate efficient heating of water in different parts of the house.
EuroProspect Alternative Energy distributes a diverse range of Kyocera solar modules. The Kyocera KC65T solar module is a UL certified model in a total weight of 6 kilograms. The length, width and depth of the module are 751 millimeters, 652 millimeters and 54 millimeters, respectively. It comprises a total of 36 multicrystalline solar cells with a conversion efficiency of over 16 per cent. These solar cells have been encapsulated between a pottant and tempered glass cover.
enXco has completed various solar power projects, one of which includes the Sun Harvest Solar project. This project included the installation of a commercial photovoltaic system, which was the first one to be installed in the US. enXco designed this system in partnership with Unlimited Energy and Third Rock Systems. The Sun Harvest Solar project was designed for minimizing the electric energy bills of a school. This project commenced on September 2007, while the commercial photovoltaic system started functioning by December 2007.
The largest rooftop solar system in Europe with a capacity of 40MW was inaugurated by Trina Solar, a leading manufacture of solar photovoltaic products that includes wafers, cells and ingots along with assembly of PV modules. The installation of this rooftop solar system was completed with the use of solar modules from Trina Solar. These solar modules were supplied based on the sales agreement between Trina Solar and Invictus. Invictus, a partner of the Benelux TEC Servicegroup, is a Belgian company.
Tempress Systems, a solar subsidiary unit of Amtech Systems, has received an estimated amount of $10 million as part of its solar orders for its diffusion processing systems. Amtech Systems is a worldwide supplier of automation and production systems for the manufacturers of silicon wafers, semiconductors and solar cells.
Solar Energy Initiatives is working on its corporate mission to Renew The Nation through economic development. The company intends to bring about this development through the sale and installation of solar technologies such as solar thermal and photovoltaic technologies. Plans have been updated for Solar Park Initiatives, a subsidiary unit of Solar Energy Initiatives in line with this corporate mission.
The Bethany Beach home solar power project included an installation of a solar electric system for minimizing energy costs. The owner of the Bethany Beach home consulted Flexera for assessing the benefits gained on the installation of a solar electric power system. The qualified and experienced engineers sketched a plan after conducting a thorough analysis.
The Kaneka G-SA050 solar panel has a total weight of 14 kilograms and measures 990 millimeters, 960 millimeters and 40 millimeters in width, height and depth, respectively. This IEC 61646 certified panel has a power tolerance ranging from +10 per cent to -5 per cent. It has a maximum system voltage of 530 volts.
