Weltec Biopower Begin Construction of Biogas Plant in France

In early 2012, WELTEC BIOPOWER started building a 526-kW biogas plant in Saint-Nicolas-du-Tertre, Brittany,about 60 miles northwest of Nantes. The plant is equipped with a fermenter of 3,052 cubic metres and separator, solid matter dosing feeder, two storage tanks, digestate storage unit, pump station, control, and drying.

Waste Management Opens Landfill Gas to Energy Conversion Plant in Northern Nevada

Waste Management (WM) has unveiled the first Gas-To-Energy power plant in Northern Nevada. The new plant at Lockwood Landfill will use landfill gas to produce 3.2 MW of electricity. The electricity produced is sufficient to power over 1800 houses.

ASPATE to Install TROPICAL’s Natural-Gas Fuel-Cell Power Systems in New Homes

TROPICAL, a developer of fuel-cell power generation systems, has declared that its GreenGen N5, 5 KW natural-gas fuel-cell power systems will be installed by ASPATE, a company that develops large-scale energy projects. These power systems will be installed in 500 new houses that come under the bioclimatic residential construction project of ASPATE.

Dulas Commissions Medium-Scale Wind Projects in the UK

Dulas, a UK-based renewable company, has delivered a hat-trick by commissioning three medium wind projects in Scotland, England and Wales. The farm sites of these places are installed with the Endurance E3120 50 kW wind turbines that create between 150,000 and 220,000 kWh of power and generate about £60,000 per annum if the winds are good.

Researchers from the University of Central Florida (USF) have identified a solution to overcome these issues.
