TV power consumption is expected to outpace the energy used to power the average refrigerator by 2010, with this figure doubling by 2031. Switching to an energy efficient TV can help to reduce power bills. In fact, Energy Star® estimates that if all televisions sold in the United States met the current Energy Star® requirements, Americans would save $2.5 billion annually in energy costs, while reducing annual greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to the emissions of about 3 million cars.
