Other companies that joined in the Series C equity financing include New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Novus Energy Partners and an existing investor, Impax Asset Management. Pulsar Energy Capital and I2BF Management are the other participants in this financing round. Since 2007, Nordic Windpower has raised funds in three funding rounds from investors that include NBT AS, Impax Asset Management, and Goldman Sachs International.

Construction of the 149 megawatt Rugby Wind Power Project near Rugby, North Dakota has been completed by Iberdrola Renewables. The project cost amounted to about $300 million. The operations building, 16.4 miles of road and 71 wind turbines were built with the help of 250 construction workers. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) estimated that 809 jobs were available during the construction process and another 29 jobs will be created during the operating process of the Rugby project. The acquisition of three wind farms in France by Boralex and Cube Infrastructure has resulted in an increase of 170 MW in Boralex’s installed wind power capacity in Europe. Vestas has received an order from the German company Prokon for 48 V90-2.0 megawatt wind turbines. These wind turbines are required for various locations in Poland. The contract includes supply of VestaOnline Business SCADA solution, commissioning of the wind turbines, delivery and installation. These 48 V90-2.0 megawatt wind turbines will be delivered during the years 2010 to 2012.
Suzlon Energy, the third largest wind turbine maker in the world, has signed repeat orders with ITC for setting up, operating and maintaining two wind power projects in the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka. The project in Maharashtra will add 6 megawatt of capacity from four units of Suzlon’s S-82 1.5 megawatt turbine and the Karnataka project will add 21 megawatt of capacity from ten units of Suzlon’s S88 – 2.1 megawatt turbine.
