Fundy Ocean Research Centre for Energy (FORCE) has been selected under the Clean and Renewable Energy Demonstrations portion of government’s clean energy fund. FORCE, which is part of 19 other successful projects, will altogether receive up to $146 million for five years to support clean and renewable energy and smart grid technology implementation.

SC Johnson has installed three wind turbines at the campus of its headquarters as part of a wind energy pilot program. A 500-kW solar power system was completed on the roof of one of Harvard University’s buildings, Arsenal on the Charles complex in Watertown, Mass. The completion of the system was announced by CarbonFree Technology, Integrys Energy Services, and SunPower.
Nevada Geothermal Power develops the Crump Geyser geothermal project, which is located in the Warner Valley of Lake County, Oregon. A transformer substation and a power line connection to a regional power grid are located near the project site. The project location has a minimum and maximum capacity of 40 and 60 megawatts, as per the preliminary review. The project site is situated in the limits of moderate to high thermal activity zone.
ETA-Florence Renewable Energies has a range of ongoing projects related to the biomass industry. Some of these include BEST, PHYDADES, PROCURA and BIOPROS. The BEST biomass project is also known as the Bioethanol for Sustainable Transport project and has been partnered and co-financed by the European Commission. Some of the other ethanol producing partners of this project include Sekab, Wessex Grain and Royal Nedalco.
