CMS Land Seeks Permission to Treat and Release Stagnated Water as Part of Little Traverse Bay Environmental Project

A request from CMS Land was submitted in the form of an application to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System on 19 November 2009, seeking permission to treat and release stagnated water at the Resort Township’s East Park. This move is a part of the Little Traverse Bay Environmental Project.

US DOE Bestows Grant on Lehigh’s Energy Research Center for Research on Carbon-Capture Cost Reduction

The US Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded Lehigh University's Energy Research Center (ERC) to be used in the development of various heat recovering and reusing methods. The grant will be used in developing a method to reuse the heat generated in the carbon capture system during the carbon-dioxide compression process.

Gas Recycling Project at Santa Clara Landfill Unveiled

Ameresco, on behalf of the City of Santa Clara, unveiled a clean energy project designed to capture and utilize the gas generated from closed municipal landfill in the city. Per hour, Ameresco’s gas-to-energy solution can generate 750 kilowatts of clean electricity from the gas emanating from the decomposing organic waste at the landfill.

Solverdi Worldwide Secures Multi-Location Equipment Contract

Global renewable utility firm Solverdi Worldwide has secured a key strategic contract from an undisclosed US environmental company for waste water processing. The deal comes with a value of $1.2 million in the first year and involves the commissioning of processing equipment by Solverdi at the client location by January 31, 2010.
